Our February club tonal is inspired by Daylight from Taylor's pop-focused album, Lover. This track closes out an album covering all the ups and downs of a hopeless romantic. Taylor notes, "I once believed love was burning red, but it's golden" highlighting the shift in her from passionate adolescence to a more mature warmth. She spent a long time holding onto grudges and pain ("a 20 year dark night," if you recall) but now feels the relief of letting go. We know that more ups and downs followed Taylor in her love life after the Lover era ended, but any moment of comfort and happiness is one to be celebrated.
