What is a preorder?
A preorder is the style of shop update we do. We post a collection of colorways at one time that can be ordered on any of our base yarn options. The preorder stays open for 24 hours. We then close the shop, dye all the orders and ship them out.
Our current collection's turnaround time is expected to be 6 weeks.
What kinds of yarn do you stock?
Currently we stock wool yarns and wool yarn blends that are farmed in Argentina and Uruguay, milled in Peru, and transported by an American supplier. All of our fibers are certified mulesing free.

Will my yarn look exactly like the photos?
The best thing about hand dyed yarn is that every skein is unique! The exact same recipes are used for all of our skeins within a specific colorway and we have extremely high quality control standards to keep color consistent. However, there are many factors that can affect the final skein and you may see slight variation on your skein.
Will I be able to order more of this yarn after this collection closes?
Each collection's colorways are available only while the collection is open on our website.
For this reason, we strongly recommend grabbing as many skeins of a colorway as you'd need to complete the project in mind (if you have one) since you may not be able to buy more of that colorway later on.
Annually, we bring back select colorways from throughout the year in our Greatest Hits Collections. Some beloved colorways will return but not all of them.
However, if you come up short when working on a project please send us email with the details and we'll check the studio for extra skeins!
I don't live in the USA. Can I still buy your yarn?
Yes! We ship worldwide to over 240 countries, there are just additional shipping fees to get your yarn safely to you. Be aware you may incur additional customs fees depending on your own country's customs policies.
I bought some yarn, how long before it ships?
Our current collection processing time is 4-6 weeks from the time of order placement.
Our current in stock processing time is 5-10 business days from the time of order placement.
What discounts do you offer?
Since 2019, we've been proud to offer our Reward Program! Anyone with a Sewrella Yarn account is automatically enrolled (signup for free here) and every purchase earns Purls or points toward discounts and free products. Learn more about our Reward Program here.
We also offer an inclusivity discount on all of our pattern kits sized XL and up! These discounts are automatically applied at checkout.
The kit discount tiers are as follows:
-XL, 2X, and 3X - 10% off
-4X and 5X kits - 15% off
We will honor the Inclusivity Discount on any project you'd like (even if we aren't offering a kit for that pattern) to make in a size XL or larger. Just send us an email with your order details stating you'd like to participate in our Inclusivity Discount program and we will refund the discount amount within 5 business days.
Inclusivity discounts cannot be combined with reward program discounts.
How do I prepare your yarn to knit or crochet with?
Our yarns are wound into hanks so you'll need to wind them into balls or cakes to work with. I've linked a couple of easy youtube videos below to help you!
