Meet the Authors
Hey y'all! I'm Ashleigh & I'm the mastermind behind all you see at Sewrella Yarn but it's been a long time since I've worked alone. Lately I have lots of partners in yarn crime, including Abby Hemmer who you'll read about below! She's been helping me bring this vision of The Stitch to life over the last several months and I'm so grateful for her. Before we hear from Abby, I thought I'd give a bit of background on what this thing is and why we're here.
For those of you that have followed me for years and years (hello & THANK YOU!) you'll remember that Sewrella began as a free crochet and knitting pattern blog back in 2016. I've always loved blogging and writing - creating resources for makers was always my business goal! Over the years when designing patterns became more laborious and I taught myself to dye yarn as a hobby, I dyed faster than I could crochet or knit so I started selling my kitchen-made yarn.
Four years later, here we are! Sewrella Yarn has morphed into a thriving company that employs a dozen hardworking, lovely, incredible women in a little studio off Classic Road. I'm so proud of what we've built and SO grateful to have Abby on the team to help diversify the resources we can make available to our audience.
I met Abby in the former pattern designing stage of my business as a contact in the industry. She was a spunky, creative go-getter who had brilliant ideas and a love for our forward-thinking goals. When the time came to hire a virtual Marketing Fairy to join our team and help bring The Stitch to a reality, I knew Abby would be perfect for the job!

Hey everyone! I'm Abby and have been part of the crafting community for about 15 years now! I'm actually based out of Buffalo, NY so I spend a LOT of time knitting and crocheting (I have to stay warm during our winters somehow)! When I first met Ashleigh years ago, I knew that she was going to move mountains in this industry and I wanted to cheer her on in every stage of her growth.
