So Long, London ✨ “How much sad did you think I had, did you think I had in me? Oh, the tragedy.”

I was pretty confident that the Eras Tour show we were lucky enough to attend, the final show in London, would be the show where So Long, London would be played live for the first time. This haunting song from The Tortured Poets Department was even better live than I anticipated, one full of loss and heartbreak 💔

We developed a tonal for this song (manifesting the surprise performance of it 😅) long before going to London for the show. One of the lines in the song - “you sacrificed us to the gods of your bluest days,” set us on a path to make the saddest blue possible. One that at its core is soft, romantic, and beautiful but with a cloudy grey filter over the top. Just like love lost.
